As a NYS Certified Teacher, I have seen many students who have struggled to keep up with the rigors of school. Keeping up with schoolwork can be an arduous task for many students. The demands of coursework, assignments, and exams often create a sense of overwhelm. Math4Mom will get your student back on track.
Pre-algebra is the foundational math course that prepares students for more advanced concepts like algebra. It covers topics such as integers, fractions, equations, expressions, ratios, percentages, and basic geometry.
Algebra 1 is a fundamental math course that lays the groundwork for more advanced mathematical concepts. It covers topics such as variables, equations, inequalities, functions, and graphing.
Algebra 2 builds upon pre-algebra and Algebra 1 concepts. It covers polynomials, factorization, equations, graphs, exponential models, and logarithms.
Geometry is the branch of mathematics that explores the properties of points, lines, surfaces, and solids. It delves into the visual study of shapes, sizes, and patterns, examining how they fit together in space.
Trigonometry is a branch of mathematics concerned with relationships between angles and side lengths of triangles. Specifically, trigonometric functions relate the angles of a right triangle to ratios of its side lengths.
Precalculus is a course that covers a range of advanced mathematical concepts, serving as a bridge between algebra and calculus. Covering topics such as Complex Numbers, Vectors & Matrices, Conic Sections, and Probability & Combinatorics.
Calculus 1 is an introductory course that covers the basic principles of differential and integral calculus. It serves as a foundational step for students majoring in mathematics, science, engineering, or related fields.
Calculus 2 builds upon the foundational concepts of Calculus 1, diving deeper into advanced mathematical topics like: methods for integrating functions, differential equations, parametric equations, polar coordinates, and series.
The SAT Math section can be broken down into 4 main content areas: Heart of Algebra, Problem Solving and Data Analysis, Passport to Advanced Math, and Additional Topics. Some questions on the SAT Math test may include concepts that seem unfamiliar to you, but don’t worry–all the topics tested on the SAT Math test are taught in your typical high school Pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus classes.
